A prerequisite of the PADI Rescue Diver course, the EFR course will teach you basic first aid, and what to do in the event of a medical emergency. The EFR course does not teach just diving related techniques, rather, it is a general course, empowering you to act in a fast and appropriate way in the event of any emergency.
This course comprises of 1 Theory Session and 1 Exam.
- Theory Session

You will watch a EFR training video and learn
Proper responses in the event of an emergency
Don't panic. Take a deep breath, analyse the situation, then respond to the emergency in the most appropriate manner. In this module, you'll learn how to step back and consider all the factors, so you'll be a halp, and not a hindrance.
Primary care for a patient
This module will train you in checking for and restarting breathing and circulation in a victim. Learn how to apply Cardiopulmonary Resuscitation in a proper fashion, and how to keep yourself safe while doing so. Also, learn how an Automatic External Defibrillator (AED) works, and how to use it effectively.
Secondary care for a patient
In this module, you will be taught how to check a person for broken bones, severe bleeding, spinal injuries and shock after you have established circulation and breathing in a victim. Learn the proper methods on how to treat such injuries, and what pitfalls to avoid.
Post-incident care
When an emergency occurs, it isn't just the victim that suffers. Emergency First Responders may also feel guilt or regret if they are unable to save the victim. In this module, learn how to deal with such feelings, and how to take care of the most important person, yourself.
Exam
To be certified as a trained Emergency First Responder, you must take and pass a multiple choice quiz.
