PADI Rescue Diver: At a Glance
  • Take Control

    You've a qualified Advanced Open water Diver. You know your way around equipment, and chances are you might even own your own personal set. You've grown comfortable in the underwater environment, and you look forward to finding strange and wondrous things underwater every time you step off the boat. But, will you be able to take control during an emergency, or look out for dangers and prevent your buddies from making dangerous mistakes?

    Course Overview

    The PADI Rescue Diver course expands your knowledge and experience as a diver. This course gives you valuable experience in emergency management. You’ll learn to

    • Perform diver assists and rescues
    • Manage dive accident situations and render first aid
    • Conducted together with the Emergency First Response program
    • CPR and First Aid skills
    • Self-rescue
    • Diver stress management
    • Emergency management
    • Emergency equipment handling
    • Panicked diver response
    • In-water rescue breathing protocols, egress (exits), dive accident scenarios and more.
    • Prerequisites

      • Advanced Open Water Diver or Equivalent Certification
      • At least 12 years old
The Essentials: Theory Session
  • Theory Session

    The Rescue Diver Course is made up of three components.

    1. Theory Component
    2. Confined Water (pool) Component
    3. Practical Dive

    The Theory and Pool component can be done independently of each other.

    There are two parts to the Theory Component of the Rescue Diver Certification

    Theory Session: Wednesdays 6.45pm - 10.45pm

    • PADI tutorial video encompassing all topics in the Open Water Diver Syllabus
    • Quizzes to reinforce the learning points in the video
    • Instructor-Student Question & Answer

    Theory Examination

    • A simple 50 question MCQ test to ensure familiarity, re-doable at your own time until you pass

The Essentials: Pool Session
  • Pool Session

    Theory Session

     

     

     

     

     

    You will get to learn and practice all essential skills including

    • Tired Diver Rescue
    • Panicked Diver Rescue
    • Unconscious Diver Rescue
    • Underwater Emergency Rescue (mask loss, air stoppage, entanglement, cramps, overexertion)
    • Search Patterns
    • CPR

    in a safe and controlled freshwater environment. Our instructor to student ratios are optimized so that every student will be able to learn that their own pace and only move on when they have safely and effectively mastered the skill sets.

    No personal equipment is required.

    1 Session, Sundays 9.45am - 4.00pm

The Essentials: The Dive Itself
  • This Is Where The Fun Begins

    Friday

    1. Take a chartered bus to Mersing Jetty, Malaysia
    2. Relax on the ferry ride to the Dive Resort (about 40 nautical miles from the mainland)
    3. (be sure to check out the stars!)
    4. Arrive at the resort, unload equipment, get your room assignment, and rest up for the night

    Saturday

    1. Wake up to a postcard perfect view

    3. Get on the boat after a hearty breakfast
    4. 3 Dives where you will have the chance to demonstrate the skills you learnt with your instructor.
    5. Relax in the evening after dinner with friends and beer

    Sunday

    1. Complete 2 final dives before lunch
    2. Earn your PADI Rescue Diver's Certification
    3. Start return trip to Singapore
    4. Reach home by 9pm
    5. Congratulations! You are now an PADI Rescue Diver

    Departs every Friday, 7pm and returns every Sunday, 9pm from Meeting point is at 37b Hongkong Street Level 3, subject to changes.
